HY-Swap is back the weekend of April 17-19, 2026!
The Spring is when we host our full, extended, all out Hy-Swap experience! We will have an extended donation drop-off period in the month and a half before the swap, a month of Sorting Soirees, a New/Expecting Family Reception, and of course the Hy-Swap itself. The swap will again be held at the Hyattsville Municipal Building (4310 Gallatin St Hyattsville MD 20781). Information about donation drop off sites and Sorting Soiree locations can be found below.
February 28th through March 28th: Pre-sorted donations drop-off at various porches throughout the Route 1 area including in Hyattsville, University Park, and Greenbelt. Please email HYswap@gmail.com for a list of all drop off sites (please do not email until February 1 so we can finalize drop off locations). We do not accept furniture such as cribs, mattresses, nursing/rocking chairs, etc.
March 14 through April 14: We will host a series of twice weekly Sorting Soirees (typically Tuesday evenings and Sunday Afternoons). These events are a fantastic way to get to know other parents in the HySwap community while helping to ensure that Hy-Swap run smoothly, and kids are always welcome to join. Sign up to volunteer, which will also provide the central Hyattsville location for the soirees (link will be live in early February).
Friday, April 17th: Volunteers needed for moving the Hy Swap gear and all of the donations, as well as setting up the event space. More information and the link to sign up to volunteer to come.
Saturday, April 18th: Volunteers needed to set up the event space and set out some donations. The New/Expecting Parents Reception will be held from 5-7pm. More information, the link to sign up to volunteers, and the link to RSVP for the reception to come.
Sunday, April 19th: Hy-Swap day! The swap will be held in two shopping session, one from 12-1pm and the second from 2:30-3:30pm. You are welcome to come back at 3:15pm to grab any remaining items. Please sign up for a shopping session to limit crowding (link to come). Note, strollers are not allowed in the swap due to limited space and fire codes, so we encourage you to leave it at home if you can. This event reaches many families and children, so please consider wearing a mask. Volunteers needed from 8:30am-7pm for set up, staffing the swap, refreshing between swaps, breakdown/clean up, and returning the boxes to storage. We especially need help at the end of the day, Thank you!!

Domingo, 19de abril: ¡Día de Hy-Swap! El intercambio se realizará en dos sesiones de compra: una de 12:00 a 13:00 y la segunda de 14:30 a 15:30. Les invitamos a regresar a las 15:15 para recoger los artículos restantes. Por favor, inscríbase en una sesión de compras para limitar las aglomeraciones (enlace próximamente). Tengan en cuenta que no se permiten cochecitos de bebé en el intercambio debido al espacio limitado y a las normas contra incendios, por lo que les recomendamos dejarlos en casa si pueden. Este evento llega a muchas familias y niños, así que por favor consideren usar mascarilla. Se necesitan voluntarios de 8:30 a 19:00 para la instalación, el personal del intercambio, el refrigerio entre intercambios, el desmontaje/limpieza y la devolución de las cajas al almacén.
